USAC Benevolent Fund Kart Race Set for May 7

Speedway, Indiana (April 23, 2019)………An annual racing tradition is on tap Tuesday, May 7, at Speedway Indoor Karting as racers are set to do battle on the 14-turn, multi-level, indoor road course track for the USAC Benevolent Fund 3-Hour ProAm Karting race.

With challenging corners and fast straightaways, several of the top USAC competitors will take part in the event. This year’s team captains thus far include USAC winners Kevin Thomas, Jr., Bobby Santos, Aaron Pierce, Justin Marvel, and Midget racing veteran Chase Barber.

Five slots remain for five more teams to compete in the 22nd running of the event, which benefits the USAC Benevolent Foundation and its mission to provide financial assistance to injured or needy auto racing participants and their families. Both courses at SIK will be closed to open karting starting at 4pm but the facility will be open to the public if anyone would like to watch the race and help out the wonderful cause.

The cost is $800 per team with each team having 5-8 drivers and $150 for individual drivers. To get yourself or your team to signed up to race, contact USAC Benevolent Fund’s Josh Laycock at (317) 796-3289.

The doors open at 5pm Eastern with the drivers meeting set for 6pm. Racing will conclude by 10pm.

Speedway Indoor Karting is located at 1067 Main Street, Speedway, IN 46224.
