Bacon Back in Action after Collecting First USAC Sprint Car Win of the Year

WINCHESTER, Ind. (April 25, 2019) – Following an Easter weekend washout, Brady Bacon gets back to business as usual with three events over the course of two nights this weekend in Indiana.

Bacon will compete in Saturday’s Non-Wing Sprint Car portion of Lawrenceburg Speedway’s King of the Midwest event and then pull double-duty on Sunday night at Kokomo Speedway in both Non-Wing Sprint Car action and winged 410-ci FAST Sprint Car competition.

Saturday’s card at Lawrenceburg will mark Bacon’s first action since racing to USAC Sprint Car victory lane at Bloomington Speedway’s “Larry Rice Classic” on Friday, April 12.

Bacon started the evening out by timing in eighth-quickest aboard the Hoffman Racing / Mean Green No. 69 and then landed on the pole of the feature event after winning his heat race.

“The Macho Man” left little doubt about the triumph, leading all 30 laps en route to his first Sprint Car score of the year and second win overall.

“It was good to get Florida behind us,” Bacon commented.  “It’s nice to know that we’re getting the car dialed in and should be able to contend every night out.”

It followed the previous weekend in which Bacon posted Non-Wing finishes of eighth at Kokomo Speedway on April 4 and then fourth at Lawrenceburg the following night before rounding out the weekend with a fourth-place 410-ci FAST series finish in his first winged outing of the year.

“We had to start at the back of both non-wing features and were able to pass a lot of cars, then a fourth-place run in our first winged start of the year was a really good sign,” Bacon explains.  “Each of the cars felt really good so it was a promising weekend.”

Bacon will look to carry the weekend from his Bloomington triumph into this weekend’s events at Lawrenceburg and Kokomo.
