Bellm Breaks into Top Ten in Lake Ozark Speedway Opener

NIXA, Mo. (April 25, 2019) – Kyle Bellm made a stride in the right direction by piloting the familiar No. 14k Sprint Car to a top-ten finish in last Saturday’s season-opening event at Eldon, Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway.

“We were able to put together a respectable night, it was definitely a step in the right direction,” Bellm commented.

Bellm began the night by racing from fourth to third in heat race action and then finished it off by climbing from 11th to ninth in the feature event.

“We were trying a few things that we don’t typically do just to see how it would work,” Bellm says.  “We just didn’t get going soon enough, the car got faster as the race went along.  We were faster at the end of the night than the beginning, so we’ll take it.”

It followed on the heels of a Friday night heat race incident at Kansas’ Humboldt Speedway in which Bellm got upside down in turn two and was then unable to climb through the “B” Main to a transfer position.

“The car in front of me decided to go into one on the high side at the last second,” Bellm recalls.  “I had to a go in a little higher then and just got a little too snug and up on the right front.”

With the 410-ci powerplant not yet ready for Friday’s World of Outlaws card at Lake Ozark Speedway, Bellm and company will be back in ASCS Regional action next weekend at Meeker, Oklahoma’s Red Dirt Raceway on Friday and then Wheatland, Missouri’s Lucas Oil Raceway on Saturday.

The Kyle Bellm Racing efforts are made possible with support from marketing partners including Greenworks Nursery, Landscapes Awarded, Christian County Collision Repair, Bybee Lawn Care, PPG Automotive Finishes, Colorvision, Schure Built Suspensions, Schaeffers Racing Oil and Park West Retirement Living.

Up Next: ASCS Sooner Region at Meeker, Oklahoma’s Red Dirt Raceway on Friday, May 3, and ASCS Warrior Region at Wheatland, Missouri’s Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday, May 4.
