Venturini Motorsports Seeks Fourth Consecutive ARCA Victory and First Ever at Talladega

Talladega, AL (April 25, 2019) – Venturini Motorsports (VMS) is off to a fast start during this year’s ARCA Menards Series’ season. After winning the first three ARCA races (Harrison Burton – Daytona Int’l Speedway, Michael Self – Five Flags Speedway and Salem Speedway), the Toyota Racing Development team will go for its fourth consecutive trip to victory lane in Friday’s ARCA General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Always fast in Alabama, VMS drivers have started from the pole at Talladega five of the last six years. 2019 ARCA Championship contender Michael Self won the General Tire Pole Award last season.

In 1987, Bill Venturini broke the ARCA qualifying record to win the pole position with a speed of 205.432mph.  This track record still stands today. The two-time ARCA series champion won three General Tire Pole Awards during his 13-career starts at Talladega.

A victory tomorrow afternoon would mark the team’s 56th win all-time in ARCA competition and first at Talladega Superspeedway. With wins at 24 different tracks on tour, including Daytona, Pocono, Chicago, Michigan and Kansas, a Talladega trophy has eluded the long-time ARCA team for 34-years. VMS has finished runner-up six times and has 15 top-5’s all-time at Talladega.

“We’ve been so close over the years,” said team owner Billy Venturini – who as a driver finished second at Talladega in 2003. “We’ve won at so many different tracks it would be nice to check this one off the list. No doubt a Talladega trophy would be special for our organization.”

Bringing another stout driver lineup to Talladega in 2019, Christian Eckes (No.15 JBL Toyota), Brandon Lynn (No.20 Carolina Excavating/TORK Toyota) and Michael Self (No.25 Sinclair Oil Toyota) will take the green flag for VMS in tomorrow’s ARCA Menards Series’ General Tire 200.

ARCA’s General Tire 200 from Talladega Superspeedway will air live on FOX SPORTS 1 Friday, April 26. Follow VMS on Twitter @VenturiniMotor or ARCARACING.com for updates.
