Bacon in Search of Racing Weather!
WINCHESTER, Ind. (May 3, 2019) – It has been more than three weeks since Brady Bacon has successfully completed a full night of racing due to foul weather all around.
It’s something that the Broken Arrow, OK, native and two-time USAC Sprint Car champion hopes to change this weekend. And winged or non-winged, 410-ci or 360-ci are all options.
Bacon will go wingless on Friday night at Gas City I-69 Speedway with World of Outlaws at Haubstadt’s Tri-State Speedway on Saturday being Plan A. Other Saturday possibilities include both 410’s and 360’s at Ohio’s Fremont Speedway or non-wing at Lawrenceburg Speedway depending upon weather.
“We’re just ready to get some races in,” Bacon says. “It’s been 21 days since I’ve had a full night of racing.”
With last week’s originally scheduled events at Lawrenceburg and Kokomo both falling victim to rain, Bacon ventured to Jacksonville Speedway in Illinois for Sunday’s World of Outlaws card.
And after a strong qualifying effort aboard the BBR No. 99, Bacon raced into the feature event before the skies opened up and washed out the balance of the event.
“We had a little bit of a stumble in the engine in the heat race that cost us a couple of positions, we probably should have been able to lock into the Dash,” Bacon comments.
Looking for sunnier skies, or at least less cloudy, Bacon looks to get back to victory lane at some point this weekend.
2019 Quick Stats: 23 races, 2 wins, 11 top-fives, 15 top-tens.
Up Next: Non-Wing Sprint Cars at Gas City (IN) I-69 Speedway on Friday and World of Outlaws Sprint Cars at Tri-State Speedway on Saturday (pending weather).
