TTOMS Opener on Tap this Weekend at Claremont
Great Ticket Deal Available for Race Fans
Seekonk, Mass. (May 23, 2019): The Tri-Track Open Modified Series (TTOMS) 2019 season kicks off this Sunday, May 26, with a visit to the granite state for the running of the second annual Ron Bouchard’s Auto Stores 100 at Claremont Speedway in Claremont, NH. A strong field of cars is expected on a full-night of racing that also includes the track’s Late Models, Street Stocks, Six Shooters, and Pure Stocks.
Hometown favorite Mike Willis, Jr. of Grantham, NH, seeks to repeat in the Ron Bouchard’s Auto Stores 100 while Matt Hirschman of Northampton, PA, looks to start his Series title defense off with a win. The likes of Ron Silk, Woody Pitkat and Andy Jankowiak hope to continue their winning ways this season at Claremont.
And, while winning is on the top of everyone’s mind, the significance of Memorial Day Weekend is not lost on Series’ competitors or officials.
“Together with our competitors, the Tri-Track Series aims to put on the best race event, but the meaning of this weekend is important to us all,” said Jim Schaefer, Series co-founder. “We do so knowing full-well that the sacrifices made by past, present and future generations of servicemen and women make this possible.”
Racing gets underway with qualifying at 5:00pm and features at approximately 7:30pm.
Thanks to a cooperative effort between Monadnock and Claremont Speedways, a special promotion will allow race fans to see all the action at a great savings. Grandstand admission tickets purchased for Monadnock on Saturday, May 25 will allow ticketholders FREE admission to Claremont on Sunday simply by showing their speedway ticket stub.
Regular general admission for the night’s event is $25 for adults and $5 for kid ages 6-12. Children ages 5 and under are free. Pit entry with a NASCAR license if $35 and $40 without. Through the combined efforts of Claremont Speedway, Tri-Track management, and Don Miller, all TTOMS drivers and pre-registered owners will receive free paddock admission.
Grandstands open at 1:30pm in time for rotating practice for all divisions. Following practice and qualifying will be consolation races for the Modifieds. An autograph session will be held for TTOMS drivers in the turn four hospitality area at 4:15Ppm. Feature races will begin at 7:30pm and may include a B-Main for the Modifieds.
The event is round one of the Ron Bouchard’s Auto Stores Challenge Cup. Round two is set for Saturday, September 14 at Monadnock Speedway. The team with the highest point total following the two events will be awarded what will undoubtedly become one of the most coveted honors in Modified racing – Ron Bouchard’s Auto Stores Challenge Cup.
The purse for the Ron Bouchard’s Auto Stores 100 is over $50,000 with $7,000 to win, $1,200 to start and at least $500 to non-qualifiers. The race winner will also receive a one-of-a-kind trophy presented by long-time TTOMS supporter Wayne Coat and crafted by Richard Brooks’ Buzzi Memorials in Waterford, CT.
“We hope winning this race Sunday at Claremont Motorsports Park, will mean something extra special, knowing that Dick Williams has spent so much time over the winter securing funds for the race,” added Schaefer, “and that the winner will always have this unique trophy placed somewhere special to remember the day.”
