Cannon McIntosh Takes on POWRi Midgets after Earning USAC Hard Charger Honors
BIXBY, Okla. (May 24, 2019) – Cannon McIntosh and the Dave Mac Motorsports Toyota-TRD Spike No. 08 team continue to be a force to be reckoned with.
After a Hard Charger effort with the USAC National Midget series last Friday, the team looks for another strong outing in Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget League action at Eldon, Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway on Sunday night.
McIntosh has been in the lead mix each time out in POWRi action thus far in 2019, posting a career-best runner-up finish earlier this month at Missouri’s Lucas Oil Speedway.
Taking in the USAC Midget portion of last weekend’s “River Town Showdown” at Granite City, Illinois’ Tri-City Speedway, McIntosh rallied from the 18th starting position to post a seventh-place finish in the Friday night feature. McIntosh then won his Saturday night heat race before rain washed out the rest of the night.
“It was a fun track. It was a little different, I found a really good line and was able to race through there,” McIntosh commented. “I feel like we’re right there with the USAC guys. We just have to get a little better at qualifying, I’ve only done that a few times so we’re still learning.”
After another solid outing, McIntosh looks to add a first POWRi win to the ledger this weekend.
Along with Toyota-TRD, other marketing partners making the 2019 Cannon McIntosh slate of events possible includes Sanders and Associates, Car and Fleet, Mobil 1, Speedway Engine Development, Best Graphics, Fieldhouse Gear, Precision Inspection, Panels by Smoke, Walker Performance, Sanders Wheels, American Discount Brake and Muffler, D&N Fabrication, Darling Ingredients, PJ’s and Hinds Family.
