Bellm at Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday after another Podium Run

NIXA, Mo. (June 7, 2019) – After racing to his second runner-up finish of the year at California, Missouri’s Double X Speedway last Sunday, Kyle Bellm is back in Sprint Car action this Saturday night at Eldon’s Lake Ozark Speedway aboard the familiar No. 14k entry.

Original plans to take in the Thursday portion of ASCS Speedweek at Creek County Speedway near Tulsa were scrapped due to unfavorable weather forecasts that proved to be accurate.

After vying for a win at Lake Ozark Speedway on Saturday, a possible return to Double X Speedway on Sunday could be in the cards.

Bellm gridded last Sunday’s feature at Double X Speedway and raced forward to his second consecutive runner-up finish atop the ¼-mile clay oval.

“We struggled a little early in the night, but we got things going and almost got there for the win,” Bellm comments.

He returns to Lake Ozark Speedway for the first time since the LOS 360 Spring Nationals on Memorial Day weekend where he was in contention to win the finale aboard the Smith Racing No. 86 after struggles the first night.

Starting the Spring Nationals finale from the pole position, Bellm held down the third position in the early going until contact from another car resulted in race-ending damage.

“We were a little snug at the start and fell back to third, but we were handing right in there with the top two and the car was really starting to come in,” Bellm commented.  “We had a top-three car at worst before that deal happened.”

It was a reunion with the Smith Racing No. 86 that nearly netted an impressive finish in ASCS National Tour competition.

“It was good to be back with those guys,” Bellm recalls.  “It took us a night to get reacclimated and then we were really good the second night out.”

Bellm looks to break into victory lane this weekend at Lake Ozark Speedway.
