2nd Annual Motor Mountain Masters at Jennerstown To Have Live TV Coverage
JENNERSTOWN, PA (July 10, 2019) – In less than a month, the pro late model event paying more than the Snowflake 100 rolls off atop Motor Mountain in Pennsylvania. And for the first time in the event’s history, the Motor Mountain Masters will be available for viewing from Jennerstown Speedway LIVE on Pit Row TV on August 10th.
The Motor Mountain Masters has quickly become a marquee event for late model racers, already boasting nearly 50 pre-entered teams and drivers a month away from the green flag. With a team led by school teacher-by-day Bill Hribar, the track has quickly begun a resurgence to the status of its nationally known past when it hosted various events including the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, the former Hooters ProCup Series (now CARS Tour), the ASA National Tour and many more.
“It’s unbelievable what this race has become in only its second year of existence,” Hribar said. “We’ve had guys from New Hampshire, Michigan, North Carolina, people all over the country calling us about this race. Everyone who raced here last year loved the track, the competition, and the area. One tour loved it so much, we came up with a bonus program for their regulars who make the trip. It’s mind-blowing, and we’re really looking forward to stepping up our game this year with the addition of live television.”
In last year’s event, eventual ARCA/CRA Super Series champion Josh Brock visited Jennerstown for the first time and took the pole position for the race and led a large portion of the night. In the end, it was multi-time track champion Barry Awtey who took the inaugural title with a late-race pass on the Kentucky driver. Brock, Awtey and dozens of others enter this year’s Masters with the hope of paying a visit to Stoney’s Victory Lane. With an increased winner’s share of the purse to $10,000, and a guaranteed $800 for feature starters, the competition is clamoring heavily to claim the top prize.
Pit Row TV’s coverage of the Motor Mountain Masters is the outfit’s first visit to Jennerstown for a broadcast event. The program will include multiple cameras, scoring, instant replays and all of the other features their viewers have come to love over the last half-decade.
“Our excitement level is over the top for our visit to Jennerstown,” said Tony Stevens of Pit Row TV. “Personally, I spent my formative years around Pittsburgh and enjoyed many nights at the half-mile up on the mountain. To come back to Jennerstown and be part of this event going forward is something I’m really stoked about because I think it has all the potential to become huge.”
Festivities for the 2nd Annual Motor Mountain Masters begin on Friday, August 9, with open practice after 6pm ET. On Saturday, cars hit the track at 12:30pm for practice sessions with qualifying at 5pm, then heats and B-mains slated to begin at 6pm ET. Feature events should begin at approximately 8pm ET.
