Lancaster, NY – (August 12, 2018) – The Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series will visit New York International Raceway Park, home to Lancaster National Speedway this Saturday night, August 17th for the 30th Annual Tribute to Tommy Druar and Tony Jankowiak 110. It will be the second visit of the season for the Series during the 2019 campaign. The 110-lap race will be the first race of the season to offer infield pitting at Lancaster.
Last season, Andy Jankowiak of Buffalo, N.Y., captured his Father’s and Uncle’s race for the first time. It was an emotional scene.
“This is a big night for all of our family,” offered Jankowiak. “We are there to race, but we are also honoring two great racers and their legacies, as well as my Father and my Uncle. It’s humbling that this race has continued. It looked like the tradition may move this year and through a lot of effort, it is where it belongs. People need to recognize that, this is going to be special. I know it, I can feel it.”
