Bellm Makes Short Track Nationals Return this Weekend
NIXA, Mo. (October 4, 2019) – Kyle Bellm and the familiar No. 14k Sprint Car team return to I-30 Speedway’s COMP Cams Short Track Nationals this weekend after a year’s absence.
The $10,041-to-win event takes place on Friday and Saturday.
“We were having a baby at this time last year, so we had to miss it,” Bellm says. “Short Track Nationals has always been one of our favorite events to go to, so we’re looking forward to getting back there.”
Bellm’s most recent visit the high-banked, I-30 Speedway clay oval in June netted a top-five finish.
“We had a pretty decent car that night, we ran fifth and probably could have been a couple of positions better had I not pressed the issue,” Bellm says.
With five STN preliminary feature starts to his credit, Bellm know the route to Short Track Nationals success.
“We just have to hope to draw well and then pass cars all night,” Bellm explains. “As long as we can accomplish that, it can make for a good weekend.”
Bellm’s most recent action was with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour at Lucas Oil Speedway’s “Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial” in Wheatland, MO, two weeks ago. It wasn’t the weekend Bellm and crew had hoped for.
“We had a couple of little issues and just some bad luck, it definitely wasn’t the weekend we were planning on having,” Bellm explains. “The good side is that it’s just one weekend and it’s over. We start fresh this weekend.”
Despite the Hockett/McMillin Memorial struggles, Bellm was able to take some knowledge away from it.
“We found some things and fixed a couple of issues that should make a big difference,” Bellm wraps up. “I feel like we should good for this weekend.”
The Kyle Bellm Racing efforts are made possible with support from marketing partners including Greenworks Nursery, Landscapes Awarded, Christian County Collision Repair, Bybee Lawn Care, PPG Automotive Finishes, Colorvision, Schure Built Suspensions, Schaeffers Racing Oil and Valley Park West Retirement Living.
