Stacked Rosters for TTOMS Haunted Happenings at Seekonk to Feature New Faces & Old Favorites
Seekonk, Mass. (October 24, 2019): A stacked field of series regulars will be joined by some new faces when the Tri-Track Open Modified Series (TTOMS) heads to Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, MA, this Saturday, October 26 for the 2019 season finale. The Haunted Hundred will see the chase to the championship come down to Ronnie Williams of Ellington, CT, and Matt Hirschman of Northampton, PA. Ron Silk of Norwalk, CT, looks to end the season on a high-note with a victory and Matt Swanson of Acton, MA, will be looking for his first series win. Newcomers to the series like veteran George Brunnhoelzl III of Mooresville, NC, and young gun Joey Cipriano of Waterbury, CT will look to score an upset.
Featuring the 100-lap main event for the ground pounders, this event has quickly become a Halloween tradition. Joining the $6,000 to win Haunted Hundred for the Modifieds is the Pro-All-Star Series (PASS) for a 150-lap Super Late Model feature event and a 50-lap Late Model race paying $2,000 to win.
Grandstands open at 11am on Saturday, October 26 with racing starting at 1pm. General admission is $30. Children under 12 are admitted free. Pit admission is $40 with gates opening at 8am for morning practice. A rain date has been set for Sunday, October 27.
Four-time NASCAR Southern Modified Tour champion, Brunnhoelzl of Mooresville, NC, a Long Island native, is no stranger to the bullrings of the northeast. He ran three Modified tour races in 2019 for car owner Ed Harvey. But, this will be the successful Modified veterans first start at the track they call the cement palace.
Fresh off his first foray into Whelen Modified Tour racing in 2019, Cipriano is making his first TTOMS start at Seekonk on Saturday. Cipriano, too, made three Modified Tour starts this year. The young driver has logged many laps at Stafford Speedway having competed successfully in the SK Lite and SK Modified divisions. Cipriano has also competed in Stafford’s Open 80 Modified races this season.
Fellow Stafford Motor Speedway regular Keith Rocco of Berlin, CT, will be making only his second TTOMS start of 2019. The first was in the Open Wheel Wednesday event, also held at Seekonk Speedway; where he finished fourteenth.
Rocco scored his seventh SK Modified championship earlier this month during Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park’s World Series of Speedway Racing. Rocco is also a three-time Stafford SK Modified® Champion and former SK Champion at the Waterford Speedbowl. He was the 2010 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National® Champion. Among his accomplishments in Tour –type Modified competition are wins in the Valenti Modified Racing Series including two at Stafford. Rocco also has starts at Seekonk Speedway in a Late Model.
The car count expected for the Haunted Hundred is expected to exceed 35 entries. Other notables include Woody Pitkat, Tommy Barrett, Andy Jankowiak, Les Hinckley, Brian Robie, Anthony Sesely, Austin Kochenash, Chris Pasteryak, Kirk Alexander, Russ Hersey and Richard Savary.
Pitkat will be pulling double-duty on Saturday, piloting both a Modified and a Late Model. He will be joined by a strong line-up of young up-and-comers like Ryan Kuhn, Derek Gluckacki, and Tyler Tomassi and cagey veterans like Charlie Rose, Jr. Mark Jenison, Ryan Lineham, Gerry DeGasparre and others.
The Late Model rules for the event will be the same as those in effect for Seekonk’s own prestigious D. Anthony Venditti Fall Classic and can be found on the track’s website seekonkspeedway.com. All ACT legal Late Models are all welcome.
