Evergreen Raceway Makes Move Back to Sundays

Rules Changes and Race day switch for 2020
After three years of Friday Night’s under the lights, Evergreen management has decided that what’s best for the future of the Speedway is switching back to Sunday afternoons. Opening day 2020 is set for April 26th. Tour Modifieds, Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, 4 Cylinders and Jr 4 Cylinders will compete.
“Friday night’s worked on occasion, we had some great nights and some not so great nights. Statistically, Sunday shows drew more fans and more competition.” stated track promoter Jason Makarewicz.
Going into his fifth consecutive season at the helm, some fairly significant changes have already gone into effect for 2020.

One of those changes was the introduction of Thomas Vitale who will take over race director duties once the season gets underway in March.
The addition of Vitale has brought some rule changes which can be found on our website at www.evergreenracewaypark.com.
Vitale noted it is the driver’s sole responsibility to make sure their race cars comply with some of the new changes. He made things very clear, ” It is time to level the playing field in some of these divisions.”
The 2020 racing season will also see two brand new tech inspectors, both inspectors have twenty plus years of racing experience behind them along with Vitale.
When asked, Makarewicz stated, “Having two tech inspectors will now give us the opportunity to be more effective and thorough in our job to make sure everyone is playing by OUR rules.”
After a year sitting out of the booth, Ted Grow will return in 2020.  “It is such an honor to return back up as the eye in the sky for the fans, I missed being “The Mouth” that people are used to hearing,” stated GrowGrow who also is the face of social media for the Speedway.
