Cotton Classic Saturday Night at Central Arizona Speedway
CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (March 5, 2020) – After rain interrupted Central Arizona Speedway’s most recent attempt at racing on February 22, the 3/8-mile clay oval fires back to life with Saturday night’s “Cotton Classic”.
Saturday’s card will feature the San Tan Ford ASCS Desert Non-Wing Sprint Cars along with IMCA Modifieds, Pure Stocks, Bombers and Power 600 Micro Sprint Cars.
Racing action will get underway at 7:00 p.m.
It will mark the ASCS Desert Non-Wing Sprint cars second stop of the season at CAS after Stevie Sussex topped the series season opener on February 1 ahead of Pete Yerkovich, who rallied from 15th, and Sterling Cling.
Kelsie Foley is the reigning IMCA Modified champion at CAS, taking top honors ahead of Tyler Mecl and Jacob Pace while Donald Comstock topped last year’s Pure Stock points and Zack Tate was best in the Bombers.
The Pure Stocks, Bombers and Power 600 Micro Sprints took part in the February 1 season opener with Bud Marshall outlasting defending champ Comstock to take Pure Stock honors, Kevin Souligne taking the Bomber trophy and Josh Castro and Tuesday Calderwood victorious in Power 600 Micro Sprint action.
Pit gates open at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday with the grandstand gates open at 5:00 p.m. General admission for adults is just $18 with children 11 and under admitted free. Seniors and Military personnel are admitted for just $15. Pit passes are $35 for adults and $20 for children 7-11 years of age.
