Seventh Annual Turnpike Challenge
After multiple mandatory delays, the Seventh Annual Turnpike Challenge will finally see the dirt fly in the Sooner State, with the POWRi Lucas Oil National and West Midget Leagues & the Engler Machine and Tool Outlaw Micros. Starting with an Open Practice at Creek County Speedway on Wednesday, May 27th then a full night of features from Creek County Speedway the following night Thursday, May 28th. Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th is a two-day competitive stay at I-44 Speedway, ultimately concluding the Turnpike Challenge at Port City Raceway on Sunday, May 31st.
POWRi West Season Opener Launches at Airport Speedway
At this junction, POWRi and Airport Raceway officials are moving forward as scheduled with the 5th Annual Midget Round-Up presented by Burtis Motors & RapidCost on Saturday, May 23rd and Sunday, May 24th. East of Garden City, Kansas, Airport Raceway offers drivers a one-of-a-kind wheeling experience with mid-level banking on “the fastest 1/6th mile-dirt oval in Kansas”. Normally run as a mid-season staple, this year’s running of the Midget Round-Up will kick off the year-long quest chasing the crown with the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League. With top competitors from all over anxiously awaiting a venue to open the gates for full-fledged racing, this seasons “Midget Round-Up” is taking shape and targets to be a can’t miss show that sends the POWRi West Midget League into a summer of speed and close competition.
Season Opener For POWRi WAR at Lake Ozark Speedway
Saturday, May 16th will see the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League roar into action on the ultra-fast, super-racy third of a mile dirt oval known simply as “The Lake”. Lake Ozark Speedway, located just outside of Eldon Missouri, will host an all open-wheel show featuring the POWRi Lucas Oil WAR Sprint League, ASCS Warrior Region and ASCS Sooner Region, as well as the POWRi Lucas Oil Racesaver 305 Wing Sprints. The fast-racing-action will be available for fans to watch all night streaming live, or on-demand, on POWRi TV.
POWRi iRacing Championship Coming Down to the Final Night
Heading into the final points race for the POWRi Midget iRacing League season, the familiar face of two-time winner #09 Daison Pursley resides at the top of the charts. Emerson Axsom #42 continues to turn heads with great top-ten outings each week currently sitting second in the standings just twenty-five points back. Averaging a fifth-place finish over the previous two events, young Jacob Denney #7 keeps climbing the standings landing in the third spot this week thirty-four points behind Pursley. Proverbial series front-runner #4 Robert Dalby goes into the final night only fifty-eight points back in fourth as week one winner #37 Aiden Purdue rounds out the season standings top five trailing Daison by seventy-two points. Brennan Rogers #20 also laid claim to the other two features ran. The first POWRi Midget iRacing League will finalize on Tuesday, May 5th as competitors enter the virtual world of Eldora Speedway, available free and live on POWRi TV.

With many tracks, series, and leagues beginning to open with various restrictions on social distancing, POWRi officials encourage drivers and teams to ease the strain of pre-entry congestion by utilizing the online features for the POWRi Membership forms. Membership registration for race teams planning on competing with POWRi for all divisions in 2020 can be found online by entering the Driver Register link at the top right side of the POWRi website. You can also join under the Info link located at the top of the POWRi web site. You must be a POWRi member to be eligible for the year-end point fund and secondary medical insurance. If you are a member of POWRi in any division, you will not pay a temporary fee to compete in any other division. Insurance will carry over from one division to the next except for micro memberships.
