Utica-Rome Speedway Comes Back to Life Sunday, June 14

VERNON, NY – Last weekend the Utica-Rome Speedway kicked off the 2020 racing season post-COVID-19 with the Conquer Corona 30.
This coming Sunday, June 14, racing resumes at the half-mile oval for the Broedel Fuel Group DIRTcar Sportsman, Ted’s Body Shop DIRTcar Pro Stocks, and the Bernie’s Extreme Performance Parts Rookie Sportsman.  Racing is slated to begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Open practice is also scheduled for all divisions.  Anyone track time can purchase a pit pass for $40 and gain entrance into the pits for the event.  There are two practice scheduled for the night.

Due to government restrictions, fans are still not allowed in the stands.  With that said, the Utica-Rome Speedway has partnered with Dirt Track Digest TV to broadcast the event for a low rate of just $9.99.

Last weekend, Kevin Root dominated the DIRTcar Sportsman feature to take home $1,000 for his efforts while Luke Horning made his presence felt in winning the 30-lap feature for the DIRTcar Pro Stocks.  AJ Martino was dominate in the Rookie Sportsman division-leading all 15-laps.
This Sunday the official point season begins for both the DIRTcar Sportsman and the DIRTcar Pro Stocks.  These events will also count toward DIRTcar Hoosier Tire Weekly Racing Series points.
Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing slated for 6 p.m.  Everyone in the pits must follow the CDC guidelines for pit practices including face coverings.
The DIRTTRACKDIGEST.com DIRTcar 358-Modifieds will be back on the track Sunday, June 21st along with the Central Region for the DIRTcar Sportsman Tour.  The speedway will release more details on the event in the coming week.
