Swallow Comes Out on Top at Riverside Speedway

June 23, 2020 — Lancaster N.H.’s Shaun Swallow made his return to Riverside Speedway a memorable one as he picked up his first late model feature win of 2020. Swallow got his shot at the lead on a lap 34 restart and battled door to door with Stark N.H.’s 2019 late model champion Corey Mason for 6 laps before Swallow pulled out to a 6 car length lead that he held on to to the end. The best racing of the night was for second spot between Mason and Groveton’s Mike Kenison. These two battled side by side for over 30 laps with give and take between both drivers and Mason getting the second-place finish with Mike Kenison in the Central Paving Chevrolet coming home in the third spot.

Lil Rascals Dwarf car action saw Justin Stacey picking up the win with Cornish Maine’s Brenna Humphrey coming in the second spot and Hiram Maine’s Roger Edgecomb finishing in third.

The Claudette and Deans Place veteran Dare Devils saw Lyndonville Vt’s Cassi Leonard getting her second main event win of the season with McKaylah Bowen putting the 12 machine in second and young Luke Shannon bringing the J.D. Plumbing Ford home for the third position.

Claudette and Deans place Rookies saw Windsor Hodgdon turn his luck around after last week’s hard ride into the front stretch wall coming away this week with his first career main event win. Mekenna Merchant came back from an early skirmish to finish second and Charlie Hall brought the #3 in for the third spot. Revin Evan Gilbert had his feature win streak stopped at three in a row as he got involved in an early caution and had to retire the 28 machine for the evening.

In the White Mountain Community College Bonestocks 4 cylinder division, Chris Ouellette recovered from an early flat tire to come back and get his first win of the season. The 1x of Brandon Varney was second and Groveton’s Nic Gilcris took advantage of an off weekend to jump into Josh Riley’s 09 and pick up a third-place finish for the night.

This Saturday night, June 27, 2020, the Wicked Good vintage cars will be in town along with the Northeast Classic Lites, Flying tigers, Formula fours, Bones stocks, Bone stocks 6 and 8s, Dare Devils, and Lil Rascals Dwarf cars. That’s it for this week, hope to see you there!
