Gilbert Back on the Winning Track at Riverside Speedway & Adventure Park

8/8/20, GROVETON, N.H.- Gorham, N.H s Revin Evan Gilbert got back to his winning ways at Riverside Speedway Saturday night. Gilbert got out front early in the Claudette and Deans place DareDevils and fended off the challenges of  Jefferson’s, Danny Stinson JR. to take the win. Stinson settled for second and point leader Cassi Leonard ended the night in third.

The EKeys4Cars Formula Fours saw Chris Caron recover from mechanical woes last week to pick up another win but the battle was for second place between last week’s winner Jacob Roy and Dan Stinson SR. Stinson made several runs at Roy,  but came up just short. Jacob Roy was second and Stinson came home in third.

The White Mountains Community College 6 & 8 cylinder Bonestocks had more cars this week and Groveton’s  Mike Sherburne got out front early and grabbed another win. He was chased to the line by the 61 of Brenna Humphrey in second and another new driver to the division, Stark, N.H.s Jamie Swallow SR., finished in third.

The Lil Rascal Dwarf cars had a scary crash on lap 4 as Brenna Humphrey climbed the left rear tire of Groveton’s Paxton Call and spun into the backstretch wall.  Paxton was okay but Brenna had some ankle pain. Her car was too damaged to continue. Paxton made it back out for the main event which saw Justin Stacey get the lead and tried to run away and hide, but a caution with four laps to go for a  spin by Lucas Nast, gave Richie Turner one more shot at Stacey. Turner got the lead on the restart and was able to hold off Stacey to get his first win of the season with Justin Stacey second and Roger Edgecomb in the 1x third.

The Scottie Frazier 2ToGo Show Flying Tigers had a three-wide move on the first lap which saw Rowdy Brad Bushey sneak by and into first place and the 2 of Nick  Gilcris fell back to the rear, but a determined Gilcris rallied and with 5 to go caught the 52 of Bushey. After a 2 lap battle, he got under Bushey and took the main event win. Bushey brought the 52 Chevrolet home in second and Oxford,  Maine’s David Whittier finished third for his first run at Riverside Speedway. The point battle is tight in the Tiger division as just three points separated Brad  Bushey and Gilcris going into the night.

Dalton Mountain Motorsports sponsored the night and the last event of the night was a 100 lap enduro. Thirty-six cars started the event and when the dust settled it was Orleans, Vermont’s Cody Hodge coming away with the win and Leon Kenniston was second and Cody Hodge’s dad Paul Hodge, brought his 72VT home for third.

Next Saturday night brings the Gardiner and June Leavitt Memorial American  Canadian tour 150 lap event to Riverside Speedway & Adventure Park along with  Riverside’s regular divisions. Show starts at 6 P.M. Hope to see you there !!!!!
