PRA Southern Modified Racing Series Rules Clarification
PRA Southern Modified Racing Series Announces Rule Changes
Sophia, NC): On August 18th the Southern Modified Racing Series and the newly formed Southern Modified Auto Racing Teams joined forces to present a unified front to boost the Open wheel Modifieds in the South.
As with any historic joining of forces adjustments to one business plan or in this case, rules package, must be made. SMRS has in the past allowed the Progressive Sealed motor with a 750 cfm carburetor. That engine is allowed under the SMART rules package but must compete with a 390 cfm carburetor.
SMRS Officials misunderstood the carburetor rule and posted the old SMRS package would be in effect which is not the case. The events will be run under the SMART rules package. The Progressive and Hamner sealed engines must compete with the SMART approved 390 cfm carburetor.
We apologize for the mistake and hope to see everyone at the August 29th event at Caraway Speedway.
