Race of Champions to Induct Tom Casagrande into Hall of Fame and One Other Inductee to Be Revealed at Presque Isle Downs & Casino Race of Champions Weekend at Lake Erie Speedway

  70th Annual Presque Isle Downs & Casino Race of Champions Weekend to Feature Two Hall of Fame Inductees –

North East, Pa. – (September 22, 2020) – Tom Casagrande of Drums, Pa., will be inducted into the Race of Champions Hall of Fame on Sunday, September 27, 2020 as part of the pre-race ceremonies for 70th Annual Race of Champions 250.

Casagrande, who won the 2008 and 2011 Factory Stock races was a fan favorite. His home track, Evergreen Raceway in St. Johns, Pa., held an extremely successful Memorial event earlier this season in Casagrande’s honor. Casagrande passed on May 20 of this year after battling an illness. His passion was short track stock car racing and he is missed by his family, friends and the entire racing community. He will now be a member of the Race of Champions Hall of Fame and legacy of events forever.

The second Race of Champions Hall of Fame inductee will be revealed on Sunday, September 27 as part of the pre-race ceremonies for the platinum edition running of the prestigious event. The recipient has been a staple in the Modified ranks for several decades, a cheerleader for the sport and involved to this day. The individuals dedication to the sport has been unrivaled.

Tickets may be purchased for the weekend and will be available at the Lake Erie Speedway ticket office or at www.lakeeriespeedway.com. In the event that there is inclement weather, the event will be postponed to 2021, due to the prior commitment to Mahoning Valley Speedway and their Race of Champions Modified Series event on Saturday, October 3, with an agreed upon and announced inclement weather date of Saturday, October 10.
