Bear Ridge Banquet Postponed
COVID-19 Pandemic forces POSTPONEMENT of 2020 Annual Awards Banquet
We have RESCEDULED the events to Friday and Saturday March 5th and 6th, 2021.
2020 the year that just won’t give. After several weeks of watching the upturned trend of cases in the Upper Valley Area and the recent travel restrictions implemented by the Vermont State Governor, Bear Ridge Speedway Management had to make the tough decision of what to do about our banquet.
The event(s) this year due to COVID-19 limitations on the number of people able to attend an indoor gathering at once was originally scheduled for November 6th for the C. A. Miller Limited Late Models, LaValley’s Building Supply Dirt Stockers, Peanuts Auto Four Cylinders, and the Mike Estrada State Farm 4/6 Cylinder Enduros, and then on November 7th for the DIRTcar Sabil & Sons Sportsman Modifieds, the DIRTcar Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes, USAC DMA Midgets, and the WYKR Sprint Cars of New England at the Fireside Inn in West Lebanon, NH.
Being able to celebrate the accomplishments of all our competitors, and to crown our champions at our annual awards banquet is a very important part of our racing program, and is always a sold-out event, which only added to the difficulty of deciding what to do about the event in 2020.
At the end of the day, our number one goal and focus has been compassion and caring for our fellow human beings, something, that frankly seems to be missing in today’s environment. All season we strived to offer a safe place to enjoy some of the best racing in New England for sense of some sort of “normalcy” during this pandemic. We required the wearing of face masks at the track at all time, with the hopes of helping people realize that this is not about you it is about all of us, and together with a few adjustments we can get thru it. Knowing we have to wear shoes to go in most stores, and be dressed when we go outside, wearing a mask to help stop the spread of a pandemic really doesn’t feel like a big reach, and we wholeheartedly thank all of you that worked with us this summer!
Having made it thru the summer without incident to now not follow the state restrictions, would be counterproductive of our efforts, so in the interest of everyone’s health and safety, we have made the decision to POSTPONE the November 6 & 7th events. We have RESCEDULED the events to Friday and Saturday March 5th and 6th, 2021. We are in hopes that restrictions will have been lifted and we will be able to hold just one event, but for now have booked the two nights, as we get closer we will keep everyone posted and up to date. This will be the first time in the history of our banquets that we will not be holding it in the year raced, but we are already looking forward to celebrating our competitors 2020 accomplishments in March 2021.
Again we would like to sincerely thank all of our competitors, crews, staff, and most importantly our faithful fans. As we worked within the State appointed guidelines, you all worked with us to keep all of us safe, and able to be at the Ridge our favorite Saturday night spot thru the summer, and for that we cannot thank you enough!
Our 2021 racing season is scheduled to kick into action on Saturday, May 8. 2021. Season Passes make great Christmas presents, we will be uploading the order form to the website shortly, so check out the site and download the form to get yours now.
