Tropical Storm Zeta Forces Schedule Change for Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend
GEORGETOWN, DE – Rainfall from Tropical Storm Zeta has forced a schedule change for Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend at Georgetown Speedway.
As of late Thursday afternoon, approximately two inches of rain had fallen at the speedway, with additional precipitation expected overnight and into the morning hours Friday. As a result of the saturated grounds, the Friday, Oct. 30 portion of the weekend has been postponed.
The Saturday (Oct. 31) program will now consist of the following:
- Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By Sunoco Modifieds – qualifying and 44-lap feature event
- Super Late Models – qualifying and 40-lap main event
- Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By Sunoco Crate 602 Sportsman – qualifying and 25-lap main event
- 12-lap features for Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars (twin features), Delmarva Chargers and Delaware Super Trucks
Pit gates will open at noon for Saturday racing, with grandstand gates unlocked at 2 p.m. Hot laps hit the track at 4 p.m. with racing at 5 p.m.
The Halloween Trick of Treat for kids remains on schedule for 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Saturday Grandstand Admission: $25 (Adults) – $20 Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17) – $10 Kids (ages 9-12) – Children 8 and under FREE
Saturday Pit Admission: $40 – Kids (ages 6-12): $10 – Children 5 and under $2
The action resumes Sunday morning (Nov. 1) with pit gates open at 9 a.m. Grandstand gates open at 10 a.m., with hot laps at 11 a.m. and racing at noon.
Sunday’s program will include the following:
- Small-Block Modifieds – qualifying and 30-lap feature
- RUSH Late Models – qualifying and 20-lap feature
- 12-lap features for Delmarva Chargers, Delaware Super Trucks and Little Lincolns
Sunday Grandstand Admission: $25 (Adults) – $20 Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17) – $10 Kids (ages 9-12) – Children 8 and under FREE
Sunday Pit Admission: $35 – Kids (ages 6-12): $10 – Children 5 and under $2
