Ken Goodermote Passes Away at 94

Goodermote Won at Eastern States Exposition, Empire Raceway, Lebanon Valley Speedway, & Riverside Park Speedway

Goodermote, Kenneth L. AVERILL PARK Kenneth L. Goodermote, 94 of Baxter Road, died on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the Community Hospice at Samaritan Hospital after a short illness.

Born in Troy, Kenny was the son of the late Marshall and Elizabeth Effland Goodermote; and was husband of the late Carolyn Moses Goodermote.

Ken grew up in Troy, was a graduate of Troy High, and had lived in Averill Park since 1951. Kenney held various jobs over his life including driving for Cluett and Peabody, running his own body shop, and most recently was a mechanic and bus driver for the Averill Park School District.

Kenny’s passion was racing. He was a driver for area race car owners for over 20 years racing on local tracks and in neighboring states. He is a member in the N.Y.S. Racing Hall of Fame. Kenny also enjoyed golfing at Burden Lake Country Club and Bowling with the Tri City mix league.

Survivors include his son Kenneth L. Goodermote Jr. of Averill Park; and his daughter Kim Goodermote of Nassau. Ken was the brother of the late Hazel Yerton. Services will be private with entombment in Memory Gardens. Visit perrykomdat.com for a private guestbook.
