Reutzel’s Run for Chili Bowl’s “Golden Driller” begins Friday Night! – YankeeRacer.com

Reutzel’s Run for Chili Bowl’s “Golden Driller” begins Friday Night!

TULSA, Okla. (January 15, 2021) – Aaron Reutzel is set to kick off his chase for the elusive “Golden Driller” with Friday night’s Driven 2 Save Lives qualifying night at Tulsa Expo Raceway’s 35th Annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals.

The three-time All Star Circuit of Champions titlist will once again take to the 1/5-mile dirt track oval aboard the Chad Boat Industries Speedway Toyota-powered DriveWFX.com/PristineAuction.com No. 87 Spike-chassis.

Taking a quick break from preparation for his upcoming rookie season with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car series with the Dennis Roth No. 83 Sprint Car team, Reutzel kicked off his Chili Bowl week with a tenth-place run in Tuesday night’s Vacuworx Invitational Race of Champions.

“We had a good car to begin with, but somehow we cut the right rear and it barely lasted to the checkered flag,” Reutzel says.

Reutzel looks to race into his second consecutive Chili Bowl Nationals 55-lap championship feature after a strong outing last year.

Last year, Reutzel made his third career Chili Bowl qualifying night feature and sliced through the field to a third-place finish after an early incident and went on to secure his first starting berth in the Saturday night finale.

This year, the Texas native is looking for more with the potent Chad Boat Industries team.

“I couldn’t ask for a better car to drive,” Reutzel says.  “There’s a lot to ‘Chili Bowl’ luck, I’ll do my part and hope that things fall right for us along the way.”

There will be little rest for Reutzel after this weekend’s Chili Bowl as he makes his first starts in the Roth No. 83 Triple-X at next weekend’s “Wild Winged Shootout” at San Tan Valley’s Arizona Speedway on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 22-24.
