Reutzel Down South after First World of Outlaws Triumph aboard the Roth Motorsports Machine

CLUTE, Texas (March 12, 2021) – Aaron Reutzel wasted little time breaking into World of Outlaws victory lane in the new pairing with the Roth Motorsports No. 83 Sprint Car team.

After a third consecutive WoO top-ten finish on Friday night at Volusia Speedway Park, Reutzel finished out the Florida weekend by storming to victory lane in Saturday night’s 35-lapper at Tampa’s East Bay Raceway Park in just the fourth series event of the 2021 campaign.

Reutzel looks for more this weekend as he visits a pair of racetracks in Mississippi and Louisiana for the first time.  Friday’s tilt takes place at the Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, before action shifts to Monroe, Louisiana’s Revolution Park on Saturday.

“I’ve never seen either track before,” Reutzel says.  “It seems like we’ve had pretty good success at first-time tracks over the last several years, so I’m hoping to continue that this weekend.”

After sitting idle for nearly a month due to weather and scheduling adjustment, Reutzel hit the track again last Friday at Barberville’s Volusia Speedway Park and produced another strong run by finishing tenth in the night’s main event.

Making the way to East Bay Raceway Park on Saturday night, Reutzel clearly had a plan and executed that plan to perfection.

Reutzel opened the night by timing in fourth-quickest before winning his heat race and then earning the front row outside starting position for the 35-lap main event.

From there, Reutzel gunned into the initial lead and led throughout while fighting off bids from Brad Sweet and Donny Schatz along the way, running well above the cushion much of the distance before breaking away from the field in traffic over the closing circuits to secure his third career World of Outlaws Sprint Car win after accumulating 44 overall wins during his past three years of securing All Star Circuit of Champions titles.

And Reutzel paid homage to Hall of Famer and fellow native Texan Gary Wright in victory lane.

“I dream for stuff like that,” Reutzel exclaimed.  “This is what makes me love sprint car racing, when we can go out and do stuff like that. The cushion was so treacherous, but my car was loose enough that I could go up there and just get after it.  It was so much fun.  Running up there was a blast.  I watched a video on the way up here of Gary Wright, my all-time sprint car hero, winning here doing the same thing, rippin’ four tires above it.”

With that elusive first World of Outlaws win in the books for the newly-formed team, Reutzel and the Roth Motorsports No. 83 Sprint Car team will be gunning for more hardware this weekend in Mississippi and Louisiana.

2021 Quick Stats:  13 races, 2 wins, 4 top-fives, 10 top-tens.
