American Racer Cup Starts 12th Season April 16; Registration Closes April 30

INDIANA, PA – For the American Racer Cup presented by Sunoco Race Fuels, 2021 will mark the 12th year that American Racer and Lias Tire together with Sunoco Race Fuels and Insinger Performance are rewarding teams who compete weekly at American Racer tracks.

The “Winning with Weekly Racers” program got its start in 2010 with Duane Howard of Oley, Pa., taking the inaugural Modified championship. Three years later, the Sportsman division was added and Jordan Watson of Milford, Del., was the first champion for that division.

Every year since ‘13 American Racer has crowned both Modified and Sportsman champions, along with hundreds of other bonuses and certificates to drivers who race weekly at American Racer tracks.

The program is presented by American Racer Tires and distributor Lias Tire of Indiana, Pa., and Sunoco Race Fuels and distributor Insinger Performance of Dushore, Pa.

The deadline to register for the American Racer Cup is April 30. Registration forms, and a link to register online are available on the American Racer Cup website: www.theamericanracercup.com.

Modified participating speedways in the ‘21 American Racer Cup are as follows: in New York – Accord, Afton Motorsports Park, Five Mile Point, Fonda, Outlaw, Utica-Rome and Woodhull; in Pennsylvania – Big Diamond, Grandview and Penn Can; in New Jersey – Bridgeport and New Egypt; and in Delaware – Delaware International.

Sportsman participating speedways in the ‘21 American Racer Cup are as follows: in New York – Accord (Crate), Afton Motorsports Park (Open & Crate), Five Mile Point (Crate), Fonda (Crate), Outlaw (Crate), Utica-Rome (Crate) and Woodhull (Crate); in Pennsylvania – Big Diamond (Open & Crate), Grandview (Open) and Penn Can (Crate); in New Jersey – Bridgeport (Crate) and New Egypt (Open & Crate); and in Delaware – Delaware International (Crate).

The American Racer Cup ranks drivers by their 10 best finishes at each participating home track. If a driver competes at different tracks on different nights, they must be registered separately for each track.

Finishes begin being tallied on April 16. The final day points can be earned toward the ’21 American Racer Cup is Sept. 6.

The American Racer Cup weekly point breakdown is as follows: 1) 60; 2) 55; 3) 50; 4) 48; 5) 46; 6) 44; 7) 42; 8) 40; 9) 38; 10) 36; 11) 34; 12) 32; 13) 30; 14) 28; 15) 26; 16) 24; 17) 23; 18) 22; 19) 21; 20) 20; 21) 18; 22) 16; 23) 14; 24) 12; 25) 11; 26-28) 10.

At the end of the season, a starting field bonus is issued to competitors based upon the number of cars starting feature events at their participating speedway from April 16 to Sept. 6.

The top-15 Modified competitors share a $36,000 point fund, with $10,000 going to the champion. The top-15 Sportsman competitors will share a $6,750 point fund, with $1,000 allocated to the winner. There are additional bonus dollars available through Insinger Performance in the North Region ($5,700 for Modifieds and $3,000 for Sportsman).

The total cash to be distributed in ’21 is $51,450.
