Wrapping Up: Seekonk Virtual Racers Set for Finale at Las Vegas Bullring

SEEKONK, Mass. — As the Seekonk Speedway real-life season is set to take the green flag on Sunday, May 2, Seekonk’s virtual racers will compete in the finale of their six-race iRacing Road Trip Tour presented by Souza Media on Thursday, April 22. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Gamblers Classic 100 will see drivers compete in the Late Model division at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The race will air live on Souza Media TV via YouTube.
Heading into the race, Ryan Kuhn leads Thomas Axsom by 18 points in search of his second straight championship, while a finish of eighth or better will lock up the crown no matter what anyone else does. Axsom, and Richie Murray, who is third, 44 points back, are the only two drivers within enough points to make a charge. Murray would need both Kuhn and Axsom to drop out of the race early to have a shot.
Helger’s Southcoast Power Equipment, located in Westport, Massachusetts, is the race sponsor. They can provide you with the latest and greatest in outdoor power products to make your outdoor living more enjoyable. Visit them on the web at southcoastpowerequipment.com.
The Late Model cars will be the sixth different vehicle used in the iRacing Road Trip Tour for the 2021 season. In 13 previous Seekonk virtual events, nine events have been contested with the Super Late Model, and one each with the ARCA Menards Series car, Tour-Type Modified, Legend Car and Street Stock. Many of the competitors are familiar with the Late Model that iRacing offers, but it will be uncharted waters for some.
Kuhn, Axsom, and Murray are all entered to compete in the race. They are joined by former Seekonk Bandolero champions Mason Tessier and Reese Bogue, along with Nick Wood, Darryl Church, Elias Dib, PJ Evans, Cody Tripp, Tyler Alkas, Steven Bowden, Austin Flanagan, and more.
Drivers will be chasing $75 to score the feature win, courtesy of Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment, along with additional funds to the remaining of the top-five finishers. A race sponsorship is set at $300 — including $200 going towards the top-five in each event — and $100 going towards the season-ending point fund. On top of the race awards and point fund, each event has a large selection of contingency awards on the line. Additional sponsors of the Road Trip Tour for 2021 include Watermark Electric, Barrington Automotive, and Richie’s Insulation.  For a full list of contingency awards planned, see below:
