Sam Rameau Returns to Monadnock Looking to Go Back-to-back With Tri Track Open Modified Series
WESTMINSTER, Mass. — The last time Sam Rameau competed at Monadnock Speedway, he left carrying a $6,000 check from the Tri Track Open Modified Series. This Saturday, May 1, Rameau returns to the high-banks looking to take home another $6,000 prize in the season-opener for Tri Track — the Wonder Casino 100.
“It’s definitely exciting,” Rameau said, “It’s good to be going back there with confidence, knowing that we have been able to do it there before. There will be a bunch of family and friends at the track, even my friends from school. It’s good to be the hometown kid… most of the people there who will be watching the race watched my dad race there when I was kid and I like to think most will be cheering for me. I love going there. It’s a good atmosphere.”
Rameau is one of more than 35 cars expected to compete in the Tri Track opener, which will include quite the competitive field of Modified talent. In Rameau’s first three races of the 2021 season, he has two top-10 finishes, including a sixth-place effort in the debut of the Outlaw Open Modified Series at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on April 10. Following Monadnock, the team will begin preparation for the second Tri Track race of the season at Star Speedway on May 22.
Saturday’s Tri Track race day includes practice from 2-3 p.m., followed by qualifying heats at 5 p.m., with consi racing and the feature to follow. The 100-lap race will air to a live audience on Speed51.TV. Live updates from the track can be found on the Rameau Family Motorsports Facebook page.
