Utica-Rome Friday Open Practice Postponed to Sunday, May 2
VERNON, NY – With wet conditions, cold temperatures and further rain and snow showers predicted for Friday evening, the first Open Practice at Utica-Rome Speedway has been postponed.
Cars will hit the track at the Route 5 oval for the first time in 2021 on Sunday, May 2 for the first of two Test and Tune sessions. All divisions are welcome participate on both the outer half-mile oval and inner frontstretch loop to be utilized by Slingshot teams.
Gates will open at noon on Sunday. Cars will hit the track at 1 p.m. and continue through 3:30 p.m.
Pit admission is $25 for Utica-Rome members and $30 for non-members.
Grandstand admission is free.
Concession stands will be open.
A second Open Practice is slated for Tuesday, May 4 with gates opening at 5 p.m. and track time from 6:30- 9 p.m.
The Grand Reopening of Utica-Rome Speedway is set for Friday, May 7 to kick off the point season with the Sunoco Modifieds, Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman, Limited Sportsman, Next Generation Grafix Pro Stocks, Cool Stuff Antiques Four Cylinders, Senior Services Inc. Slingshots and D&H Landscaping Junior Slingshots.
Gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps begin at 6:45 p.m., with racing at 7:30 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $12 for Adults, $10 for Seniors (ages 65 and up). Kids 11 and under are free.
Pit admission is $30 (Utica-Rome members) and $35 (non-members).
