Evan Gilbert Gets First Win of 2021 Season

Gorham NH’s Revin Evan Gilbert got out front in the Claudette and Dean’s Place Daredevils and then fought off several challenges from the #55 of Brandon Sheldon but hung tough and got his first main event win of the season. Sheldon settled for the second spot with last week’s winner Connor Charbonneau in the third spot.

The Bad Boy Mowers 4 cylinder Bone Stocks saw another first-time winner after the #30 of Travis Collins led all the way to lap 18 and then tangled with second place runner Nick Ogden. While they were spinning the #22 of Justin Burt got by for the win and Miller Buzzell finished in second with last week’s winner Aaron Smith getting third. After not meeting tech inspection #22, #01 of Miller Buzzell was declared the winner, with #8X of Aaron Smith in second and #13 of Jenna Randall in third.

The Bay Haven Restaurant 350 super modifieds were lightning fast on Saturday night as once again Dave Helliwell got out front and led until a restart with seven laps to go bunched up the field. The race was tight on the restart as Helliwell’s brother Billy took up the second spot to challenge for the win. Side by side out of turn four they ran but Dave Helliwell got the win with Billy Helliwell in second and Nette Humphrey right there in the third spot.

The EKeys4cars Formula Fours did not disappoint as there was action all through the field. East Corinth VT’s Brian Putney got the family truckster to the front and then had to fend off some hard charges by Andrew Fecteau in the #75 who finished in second and the #38 of Ryan Heuser for third. Groveton NH’s Chris Caron hopped a last-minute ride and led the race until with three laps to go Groveton’s Randy Fecteau got under Caron and stole the win. Caron ended the night second with 2020 champion Mike Sherburne finishing third in his #83.

The Creative Counters Late Models came to the line with 15 cars set to do battle. In the first heat race point leader, Jamie Swallow JR. and the #3 of Mike Kenison got together with both of them getting into the turn three wall. Unfortunately, both cars were too damaged to continue. In the main event, Floyd Bennett JR. got the early lead until a spin out of turn four by the #74 of Justin Elderidge collected 3 other cars and brought out the only caution of the race. On the restart, Groveton’s Corey Mason put his Colebrook Automotive #1 out front and then fought off a hard-charging sudden Sammy Gooden in the #01. Things got tight when the top three cars encountered lapped traffic but Mason held on for the win with Gooden a strong second and Shelburne VT’s Steve Fisher in the third spot.

Join us next week when the M.H. Humphrey Lil Rascal dwarf cars will be in town along with the EKeys4Cars Formula Fours, the R.N. Craft street stocks, the Claudette, and Dean’s Place Daredevils and the Bone Stocks 6&8 cylinders. Hope to see you there!!!!!!!
