Sheldon Gets First Career Feature Win at Riverside
St. Johnsbury, VT’s Brandon Sheldon drove his A & L garage sponsored #55 to victory lane in the Claudette and Dean’s place DareDevil class at Riverside Speedway and Adventure Park. Sheldon got out front at the drop of the green flag and cruised to his first main event win. The battle was for second place between the #29 of Alexis Lundblad and the #28 of Evan Gilbert. When the race ended Revin Evan Gilbert was second and Lundblad finished in third.
In the Bay Haven Lobster Pound and Restaurant 350 Super Modifieds, a spin on lap one at the front of the field looked like a disaster for Dave Helliwells #01. The safety crew got him going again as the field got lined back up and in order. At the drop of the green Helliwell sliced through traffic and was out front by lap 4 and after two quick cautions came away with the win. Northfield NH’s Les Keyser grabbed the second spot and after recovering from a spin Brenna Humphrey ended the night in third.
In the R.N. Craft Street Stocks, Nick Gilcris got the win after battling side by side for ten laps with the #32 of Chris Caron who finished in the second spot and Robert Audet got the third-place trophy. The EKeys4Cars Formula Fours put on another great show as Brian Putney got to the front early and put the family truckster into victory lane. The battle raged for second and third between the #38 of Ryan Heuser and the #75 of Andrew Fecteau. Heuser ended the night with a second-place finish and Fecteau came home in third.
In the Creative Counters Late Model Sportsman, it was another rough week for Jamie Swallow JR. The #4 of Swallow was leading the Main event and on a lap #16 restart contact with another car turned Swallow sideways in front of the field. Both Swallow and the #12 of Mike Paquette got collected and were done for the night. When racing resumed Groveton’s Corey Mason in the Kelly and Roy Pulling Horses #1 got out front and had to fend off a hard challenge from Shelburne, VT’s Steve Fisher. Mason came away with the win and Fisher got the second spot with Tuftonboro N.H. Justin Elderidge claimed third.
In the Bad Boy Mowers of Morrisville VT. Nick Ogden got back on the winning track as he picked up his first feature win of the season. Irasburg VT’s Aaron Smith came from the back of the field to finish in second with Groveton N.H. Jullian Kenison got the third-place hardware on DK-N Sons night at Riverside.
Next week the Granite State Pro Stocks are in town along with the Bad Boy mowers 8cylinder Bone stocks, The M.H. Humphrey Lil Rascals Dwarf cars, and the Claudette and Dean’s place DareDevils. Post time 6 P.M. Hope to see you there!!!
