Groveton’s Chris Caron Gets First Win of the Season at Riverside Speedway & Adventure Park

Chris Caron picked up his first victory of the season in the R.N. Craft street stocks at Groveton’s Riverside Speedway and Adventure Park. Carons #32 was running in the third spot when leader Nate Swallow went around a lapped car and Swallow and second place runner Nick Gilcris got together in turn one with both cars spinning. Gilcris ended up over the turn two banks too damaged to continue. Swallow went pit side and made it back out before the field went green. Caron was then the leader but on the restart, Swallow made his way through traffic and was all over Caron for the lead. Out of turn four on the last lap both cars touched with Swallow coming across the finish line backward for second with Caron getting the win and Hunter King finishing in third.

In the Claudette and Deans place DareDevils Gorham’s Revin Evan Gilbert picked a hard-fought win over Alexis Lundblad in the #29 for second and the move of the race goes to the third-place finisher Brandon Sheldon as he was battling with Lundblad for the second spot and got completely sideways out of turn four and somehow managed to save it and end up in the third spot.

The M.H. Humphrey & Sons Lil Rascal Dwarf cars had one caution as the #13 of Mike Whitman hit the front stretch wall. Roger Edgecomb got the lead on the restart and held off the #29 of Justin Harris for the win with Harris getting second and South Hiram, Maine’s Brad Sanborn in third.

In the Bone stocks 6 & 8 cylinders, Groveton’s Mike Sherburne made it two in a row as he got the win in his #83 with Groveton’s Randy Fecteau in second and Eric Prescott finishing in third.

The Bad Boy Mowers 4 Cylinder Bone Stocks came to the line 21 cars strong with battles all over the speedway. When the dust settled it was the #9 of Mechanic Falls Maine’s Nick Ogden picking up his second win in a row and Travis Collins in the #30 getting the second spot with Christopher Cass getting the third-place trophy. Join us next week when Enduro mania hits Riverside Speedway with a four cylinder enduro and an eight cylinder enduro and chain races. Hope to see you there, racing begins at 2:00 pm.
