Utica-Rome Speedway July 2 Program Falls to Rain; Fireworks Now July 9
VERNON, NY – Morning rain and a forecast for continued precipitation throughout the evening hours forced the postponement of Friday night’s events at Utica-Rome Speedway.
The fireworks extravaganza has been postponed by one week until Friday, July 9 to Neivel Precision Plumbing & Mechanical LLC Night at the Home of Heroes. The $3,500-to-win Sunoco Modified main will also take place next Friday.
A complete program of Sunoco Modifieds, Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman, Next Generation Grafix Pro Stocks, Fastline Performance Limited Sportsman and Cool Stuff Antiques Four Cylinders will take place on the half-mile oval.
Due to the rainout, the Senior Services Inc. Slingshots and D&S Landscaping Junior Slingshots will be on the program for July 9 utilizing the inner oval.
For the July 9 program, all gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with racing beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $15. Seniors (ages 65 and up) pay $13. Kids 11 and under are FREE.
Pit Admission is $30 for Utica-Rome Speedway members and $35 for non-members.
The event will be streamed live by Dirt Track Digest TV (www.dirttrackdigest.tv) for those unable to attend in-person.
