BLOOMSBURG, PA – A new era begins.

On Wednesday, July 14, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco begins a new venture at the Bloomsburg Fair Raceway for the inaugural ‘Battle at Bloomsburg.’

The STSS big-block/small-block Modifieds with sail panels will tackle the freshly constructed three-eighths mile. The facility had not hosted auto racing in more than 35 years before returning to life in 2021.

The event will serve as Round No. 5 of the Hurlock Auto & Speed North Region for the STSS Modifieds, as part of the $12,000 championship chase for the 2021 season.

The Modifieds will tackle the new facility for 50-laps with the winner claiming a minimum of $5,000, and the honor of becoming the first dirt Modified winner at the Bloomsburg Fair Raceway.

A minimum total purse of $25,170 is in place for the Modifieds, with $1,000 going to the 10th-place finisher and a minimum of $400 to each qualifying competitor plus numerous awards and certificates handed out at night’s end.

The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman will also be on hand, taking part in the historic event. Bloomsburg Fair Raceway will host Race No. 3 of the Precision Hydraulic & Oil North Region for the Crate 602 Sportsman.

A $1,500 winner’s share is up for grabs with $100 going to each qualified racer for the Sportsman.

For the July 14 event, pit gates open at 4 p.m., while grandstand gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps begin at 6 p.m. with racing following at 7 p.m.

Adult grandstand admission is $25. Students (ages 13-18) pay $15 and Kids 12 and under are admitted FREE.
