Ledger on Top at Riverside on Papa Bears Custom Construction & Trucking Night
Young Kamyrn Ledger got her first career main event win in the Claudette and Dean’s place DareDevils on Saturday night. Ledger, In a brand new ride, got the lead and withstood two caution flags to get the win. A scary crash on the white flag lap sent Revin Evan Gilbert and Alexis Lundblad into the front straightaway wall and destroyed Gilbert’s Pontiac. Fortunately, Evan and Alexis were okay. Finishing in second was the #55 of Brandon Sheldon and in third was the #6 of Conner Charbonneau.
In the Bay Haven Lobster Pound & Restaurant 350 Super modifieds, Nette Humphrey led all the way until lap #26. After racing side by side with Point leader Dave Helliwell Humphrey spun the #04 with two laps to go. Finishing in second was the #27 of Leslie Keyser and the #8 of South Hiram Maine’s Brad Sanborn was third.
In the Bone Stock 6 & 8 cylinders put on a good show as Jamie Heath sliced through traffic and came home with the win. Stark N.H’s Pete Gilcris came out of retirement and got back behind the wheel and picked up a fine second-place finish with Groveton’s Mike Sherburne in third. The Bad Boy Mowers 4 Cylinder Bone Stocks came to the line 18 cars strong with side by side and three-wide racing all around the speedway. Point leader Nick Ogden got through the traffic first and went on to pick up another win in his #9 machine with Aaron Smith of Irasburg VT ended the night in second and Chris Cass of Jefferson N.H. got the third spot.
The EKeys4Cars Formula Fours were a very competitive night as there was door to action all through the field. The #5 of Jason Ball led early but on lap #16 he got together with the #97 of Cassi Leonard and both cars went into the turn three wall. Both drivers were okay but done for the night. When racing resumed Brian Putney put the family truckster#87 out front and came away with another victory. Morrisville’s Zach Audet had a good night finishing in second and Andrew Fecteau claimed third.
The R. N. Craft Street Stocks had a bunch of new cars and some extra money on the line Saturday night and six-time Late Model champion Aaron Bennett of Groveton made his return to the Groveton high banks aboard the Humphrey Chevrolet. Aaron ended the night in the seventh spot but the smile on his face was priceless as he had a lot of fun. Maine’s Dan Brown picked up the first place trophy in his #83 car with Oxford Plains Speedway regular Billy Childs in second and Travis Lovejoy in the third position.
The Creative Counters Late Models were fast Saturday night and newcomer Gabe Brown piloted his #47 from the rear to pick up his first career win at Riverside. 2020 late model champion Shawn Swallow stopped in at Riverside for his first visit of the season and brought the #04 machine home in second with the #3 DKnSons Chevrolet of Mike Kenison finished the night in third.
This coming Saturday night will see the Northeast Mini Stock tour visiting Riverside Speedway along with a double feature of the Creative Counters Late Models, the R.N. Craft Street stocks, The M.H. Humphrey Lil Rascals Dwarf cars, The EKeyes4cars Formula Fours, and The Bad Boy Mowers of Morrisville 6&8 cylinder Bone Stocks along with the Claudette and Deans’ place DareDevils. 6 P.M. post time, Hope to see you there.
