Corey Bubar Scores First Career Granite State Pro Stock Series Win at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway
SCARBOROUGH, Maine — For the first time in his Granite State Pro Stock Series career, Corey Bubar held the checkered flag at a familiar track on Saturday, August 14. Bubar bested the top competition in the feature races to score the big win at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in the second and final stop for Granite State there this season.
The race was cut into two, 60-lap segments — totaling 120 laps — with a quick break in between for teams to make adjustments on pit road. All cars left pit road in the same order they came in, with Bubar showing the way back to the green flag for lap 61. Earlier, Bubar had led the first 60 laps, and in the end, he would lead the final 60. He crossed the line .803 seconds ahead of Rusty Poland, who scored his second podium finish of the season with Granite State in racing at Beech Ridge.
Gabe Brown was third, extending his series championship lead with just four scheduled races left in the championship points battle. Wyatt Alexander, a former Granite State Pro Stock Series winner at Beech Ridge, and local track favorite, was fourth, while David Oliver, who won in June, rounded out the top-five.
Alan Tardiff had a strong run to finish in sixth, while Donald Colpritt, Evan Beaulieu, Mike Mitchell and Jacob Dore completed the top-10.
The Granite State Pro Stock Series is scheduled to return to the track on Saturday, September 4, at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, New Hampshire. For more information on the Granite State Pro Stock Series, visit gspss.net and follow the series on social media.
