Josh Sunn gets first win of season in DIRTcar Sabil & Sons Sportsman Modifieds

Thomas Placey overall winner in the DIRTcar Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes Madness event

Swenson Insurance night Feature winners: Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds Josh Sunn; Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes Thomas Placey USAC DMA Midgets Return to action August 28th; C.A. Miller Limited Late Models Todd Dunham; LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks Jesse Dunham; Peanuts Auto LLC Four Cylinders Feature #1 Devin Spinks & Feature #2 Jason Porter. Granite State Mini Sprints: 500cc Riley Chaffee; 600cc Mark Wiggett.
Walker Motor Sales night MAKEUP Feature winners: Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes Madness: Segment One: Jason Horniac; Segment Two Cody Copeland; Segment 3 Matt Ellsworth, overall winner Thomas Placey Peanuts Auto LLC Four Cylinders Feature #1 Westley Blake & Feature #2 Logan Martin.
Josh Sunn becomes the eighth different winner in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, showing the competitors that even with some time off the past couple seasons, he still remembers his way around the track. Taking the lead early and with only one caution the other heavy hitters wouldn’t have time to set any hard challenges against him for the win. Coming up just one spot short, but back in victory lane was Jason Gray. Holding on to a victory lane spot was Todd Buckwold coming home in the third-place spot. James Fadden and Robert Tucker completed the top five.

The final segment of the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes Madness event was completed with Matt Ellsworth seen marching from mid-pack to take the lead and hot money spot on lap 33 and hold on for the segment win. Thomas Placey crossed the line in second with Jason Horniac in third. Tad Kingsbury and Jeremy Hodge finished out the top five. The OVERALL top five for this historic event with over $13,000.00 in lap money, purse, and special bonuses were Thomas Placey; Tad Kingsbury, Jason Horniak, Tim Hodge, and Matt Ellsworth. The mighty Coupes then returned for their regularly scheduled feature event. When all was done some did well and some did not, which will surely shake up the points standings as we head into end of August and start of the windup to the season finale. Thomas Placey was one of the lucky ones able to come from the back by virtue of the makeup event win and make it back-to-back wins for the night. Brian Chaffe was unable to make a challenge for the win having to settle for the runner once again up spot, and Cody Gregoropoulos would join them in the final victory lane spot. Tim Hodge and Tim Martin rounded out the top five.
The USAC DMA Midgets made their second trip of the season to Albany/Saratoga only to have mother nature claim the victory. Show points were awarded to all of those who made the trip for their efforts. They will be returning to action at the Ridge on August 28th.
The C.A. Miller Limited Late Models were a dozen strong, and Todd Dunham grabbed his third win of the season beating out Ryan Avery and Matt Lashua. Tyler Tremblay and Chad McAlpine rounded out the top five.
In the LaValley Building Supply the son of the Late Model feature winner said dad if you can do it so can I as he crosses the line first scoring his second win of the season. Lucas Wheeler and Mike Mann joined him in victory lane, with last week’s winner Dustin Towle coming home fourth and Mike Stender fifth.
The Peanuts Auto LLC Four Cylinders car count continues to grow on a weekly basis with thirty-four in the pits for the scheduled events. First to be run were their makeup races from Walker Motor Sales night. For Feature one Westley Blake gets the win in the makeup event with Gregory Crews and Hayden Bishop joining him in that order in victory lane.  Chris O’Dell and Douglas Kenny rounded out the top five.  For feature two Logan Martin holds off Jason Porter for the win and after a post-race inspection, the remaining field moves up one position as Buddy Welch was deemed illegal, thus giving Jason Porter second and Jesse Durkee third. Kevin LaForest and Garrett Brown completed the top five. When the Four Cylinders returned for their regular scheduled events for the night race one had another first-time winner for the year added to the record books with Devon Spinks seeing the checkers first. Tom Brown and Travis Burroughs were the two lucky ones to join him in victory lane with Chris O’Dell and Cary Hunter completing the top five. Feature two was awarded to Jason Porter with his fifth win of the season and Spencer Braley and Garrett Brown taking the final two victory lane spots. Tim Chase and Logan Martin rounded out the top five.
The Granite State Mini Sprints were in town and topless as well running without their wings. Thirty-four machine would take the green between the two classes. In the 500ccRiley Chaffee was your winner with Rob Williams in second and Chase Rogers in third Eric Relation and Nicholas Greenslade rounded out the top five. In the 600c class Mark Wiggett gets the win over Jack Koponen in second and Kyle Gisleson in third. David Bodio and Justin Burr completed the top five. The Granite State Mini Sprints will be back in action on August 28th.
The Sting Vintage Race Cars 4/6 Cylinder Enduro 4th event of the season will be on 9/4/2021.
