‘Spec-tacular’ Night: PA/NJ Small-Blocks Make Georgetown Speedway Debut Oct. 29 – YankeeRacer.com

‘Spec-tacular’ Night: PA/NJ Small-Blocks Make Georgetown Speedway Debut Oct. 29

GEORGETOWN, DE ‘Spec-tacular’ night.

On Mid-Atlantic Championship weekend, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco takes center stage at the Georgetown Speedway.

However, on Friday night (Oct. 29), the PA/NJ-legal Spec Small-Block Modifieds headline the program, chasing a potential $5,000 payday.

The small-blocks will race for 30 laps around the progressively banked half-mile speedway in a spec-only Small-Block Modified race.

The small-blocks have long been a part of Mid-Atlantic Championship weekend. However, in the past, open small blocks of maximum 370 cubic inches were legal to participate in the affair.

Now the PA/NJ Spec Small-Block Modifieds exclusively will go toe-to-toe in the prelude to the STSS Mid-Atlantic Championship race.

Stockley Tavern of Georgetown is presenting a Gambler’s Fee for the small-blocks, with an opportunity to turn the $3,000 winner’s share into a $5,000 payday.

Drivers will have the option, prior to the start of heat races, to post a $50 or $100 Gambler’s Fee. Should a driver post the $50 fee and win, they will receive $4,000 at the pay window.

If the driver posts the $100 fee and is victorious, the winner’s share will turn into a $5,000 payday.

Joining the Spec Small-Blocks on Friday night will be the First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models rounding out their Sunoco Championship Series in a 20-lap, $1,000-to-win feature event.

Also on the Friday night card are the heat races for the STSS Modifieds, and time trials and heat races for the Super Late Models.

The Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Car Club, Delmarva Chargers, and Delaware Super Trucks will all participate in 12-lap feature-only races as well.

On Saturday (Oct. 30), attention turns to the championship for the STSS on the Velocita-USA South Region presented by Design for Vision and Sunglass Central. The STSS Modifieds race for 40-laps around the Sussex County half-mile and a potential $7,000 payday (with the Stockley Materials Gambler’s Fee).

The Super Late Models will also go 40-laps and a potential $7,000 victory (with the JD Shuckers Georgetown Gambler’s Fee) on Saturday night in a co-headlined event.

The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman also crown a champion in the Belmont’s Garage South Region on Saturday night in a 25-lap, $1,500-to-win affair.

The Little Lincolns, Delmarva Chargers, and Delaware Super Trucks will all go in 12-lap, feature-only events as well.
