J. Swanson & Buckman to Drive for DMW on 2022 USAC Silver Crown Trail

Phoenix, Arizona (December 21, 2021)………DMW Motorsports, powered by Advanced Materials Technologies, has announced its plans to field multiple entries for the five dirt events during the 2022 USAC Silver Crown season for drivers Jake Swanson and Casey Buckman.
Returning to the No. 10 car – a DRC Chassis powered by a Wilcox Chevy – for the third consecutive season is the recipient of USAC’s 2021 USAC National Most Improved Driver award, Jake Swanson.  The Anaheim, Calif. native, and current Danville, Ind. resident, recorded a pair of top-three Silver Crown finishes in 2021, breaking onto the podium at Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway and at the Du Quoin (Ill.) State Fairgrounds.
Away from the champ cars of the Silver Crown Series, Swanson won the 2017 USAC West Coast Sprint car championship and counts feature wins in USAC’s California Racing Association (CRA), Southwest and Western States Midget Series.  In 2021, Swanson registered four runner-up finishes and a win in USAC’s AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship.

“I am excited to be back in the #10 car next year,” said Swanson, who competed in 50 races across a number of divisions in 2021 and had nine top-three finishes.  “We are really hitting our stride, the car is working well, the engine hits hard and we really gel as a team.”
Joining Swanson as a DMW Motorsports entry in 2022 is Chandler, Arizona hot shoe Casey Buckman, who is entering his third season on the Silver Crown trail.  Buckman will pilot the team’s #110 car, another Wilcox-powered Chevy, this one riding on a Meyer Chassis.
“We see incredible talent in Casey and think he has a bright future,” crew chief Mickey Meyer stated.  “We are excited to have him join our team this year and bring his competitive experience to the track.”
Buckman began racing as a 13-year-old, winning some 60 feature wins across five states before advancing to winged sprint cars at age 17 in 2012.  The youngest driver on the ASCS Southwest Sprint Car Series that season, Buckman earned Rookie of the Year honors in 2013 before going on to become a multi-time winner with the series.
Most recently, Buckman, a graduate of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, ran select Silver Crown Series races in 2020 and 2021, with a best finish of 8th coming last year in the Bettenhausen 100 on the Springfield Mile at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to join the DMW team and show what I can do,” said Buckman, who is track and facility manager at Wildhorse Pass Motorsports Park (formerly Firebird International Raceway) just southeast of Phoenix.  “DMW has great equipment, a solid track record and is well respected.”
The 2022 USAC Silver Crown season gets underway on May 1 at the Terre Haute Action Track, a legendary half-mile dirt track in western Indiana.  The schedule includes 11 points-paying events, six on pavement and five on dirt.
Based in Phoenix, Arizona, DMW and its stable of drivers are coming off a 2021 season in which they recorded three podium finishes while competing in USAC’s premier series.
The 2022 season will mark’s DMW’s fifth year of competition, and the team will once again field two cars.  Team sponsors Advanced Materials Technology, Phoenix Pavers, Las Vegas Pavers, U.S. Auto Cure and Boulevard Truck Repair will provide the lifeblood of the formidable operation.
