STSS Cajun Region Visits Thunder Valley May 14, Ark-La-Tex Secures July 23 Date
SHREVEPORT, LA – Two-for-two.
The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco ‘Cajun Region’ has fired off with back-to-back successful events to open the 2022 racing season.
Korey Keimig of Waxahachie, Texas, won the season opener at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas on March 26. Keimig used a last-lap pass around the outside to go from third-to-first to claim his first career STSS victory.
Robeline, La.’s Caleb Dillard bested the largest field in ‘Cajun Region’ history at Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La., on April 9. Dillard – the defending series champion – topped the 21-car field at Boothill.
Both Boothill and Superbowl speedways were hosting their first-ever ‘Cajun Region’ points-paying events in history.
Round No. 3 in the Day Motor Sports ‘Cajun Region’ points series is a visit to Glenmora, La.’s Thunder Valley Speedway on Saturday, May 14 for the first time in 2022 and the third time in ‘Cajun Region’ history.
Thunder Valley hosted the STSS ‘Cajun Region’ on two occasions in ‘21, with Dillard and Converse, La.’s Tommy Rascoe claiming the victories in the inaugural ‘Cajun Region’ season.
Following his triumph at Boothill, Dillard currently sits atop the ‘Cajun Region’ standings with 190-points, just 10 ahead of Tommy Rascoe. Waxahachie, Texas racer Kodey Keimig – son of Korey – is third with 166 markers.
McLeod, Texas driver Richard Holt is fourth in points at 157-points, and STSS rookie Koty Adams – of Doyline, La. – rounds out the top five at 151-points.
With the uncertainty surrounding the future of The Rev (Monroe, La.) as a dirt track, Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., has filled the Saturday, July 23 STSS ‘Cajun Region date. Ark-La-Tex now hosts two ’22 points races for the series.
