WEEDSPORT, N.Y. (July 4, 2022) – Weedsport Speedway is saddened by the tragic loss of American Flat Track competitor Ryan Varnes (24) and extends heartfelt condolences, thoughts, and prayers to his family, friends.
Varnes, a Pennsylvania native, was involved in an on-track incident in the Production Twins Main Event at Weedsport Speedway on Saturday evening. On-scene emergency personnel responded to the incident immediately and transported Varnes to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY where he later succumbed to his injuries.
“We extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the Varnes family, all of their friends, and everyone that has been affected by this situation,” stated Al Heinke, owner Weedsport Speedway.
