Exciting Schedule Changes for Thunder Road Following SRX Addition
All-New, Big Money ‘Super Saturday’ on August 12th plus Street Stock Triple Crown!
Barre, VT — After weeks of planning, Thunder Road officials have released some exciting schedule changes to the 2023 calendar. With the huge announcement of the nationally renowned SRX Series debuting at Thunder Road on Thursday, July 20th and with the need for Friday, July 21st as a possible rain-date, shifting the schedule became paramount. Along with moving the second round of the Myers Flying Tiger Triple Crown Series to June 29th, the Times Argus Midseason Championships will now be contested on July 6th with an all-new Super Saturday on Saturday, August 12th featuring big-money purses for all four Thunder Road divisions and the championship round to an all-new Street Stock Triple Crown in the month of August!
The Myers Container Service Flying Tiger Triple Crown Series will now do battle twice in the month of June, on the special Friday Night opener on June 9th alongside the New England Supermodified Series and newly rescheduled to Scout Night on June 29th. The series finale will once again fall on August 3rd’s Cody Chevrolet Cadillac Night where the seventh series champion will be crowned.
Times Argus Midseason Championship Night has now been rescheduled to the always exciting Fourth of July stretch on Thursday, July 6th. The extra distance, double points affair always packs a punch especially with the FloRacing Double Purse on the line, courtesy of our Official Streaming Partner. Fans will also get their annual Autograph Session opportunity to get up close and personal with their hometown heroes.
The all-new Super Saturday program on Saturday, August 12th will feature big-money purses for all four Thunder Road weekly divisions. The Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models will be competing for the $1,500 top prize while the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers will shoot for $1,000-to-win. The rk Miles Street Stocks are set to gun for a $500 top slot while the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors will be beating and banging for the $300 win. A must-see show that now highlights the month of August at the Nation’s Site of Excitement.
Not to be outdone, the $500 Super Saturday prize for the rk Miles Street Stocks is just the tip of the iceberg. It will be the second $500 to win Street Stock event in 6-days following the annual 50-lap Street Stock Special as part of the 39th annual Bolduc Metal Recycling Enduro on Sunday, August 6th. More than that, both events along with Nolato Night on Thursday, August 10th will combine for a Street Stock Triple Crown and a separate point fund for the top drivers. A grueling run of three events in six days will showcase four-cylinder strength as the best of the best battle for all the bragging rights through the Dog Days of Summer!
