World of Outlaws Empire State Challenge Weekend Purse Boosted to Over $134,000

Sunday Finale to Pay $20,000 to Win

WEEDSPORT, NY (February 24, 2023) – When the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series returns to Weedsport Speedway on July 29-30 for Empire State Challenge Weekend, they’ll compete for the largest sprint car purse in Weedsport Speedway history with more than $134,000 on the line.

The two-day program will now see Saturday’s portion pay $10,000 to win and $1,000 to start, with a hefty winner’s prize of $20,000 on Sunday and $1,500 to take the green flag.

“After seeing the success of last year’s two-day program, we wanted to give the weekend even more buildup with an increased Sunday purse that we believe will draw in even more top competitors,” said Weedsport Speedway promoter, Jimmy Phelps.  “We look forward to once again working with the World of Outlaws and are excited to pair our 358 Modifieds and Big Block Modifieds with the best in 410 sprint car racing.”

The DIRTcar 358 Modifieds will join the Outlaws on Saturday, July 29 while the Big Blocks will join the party on Sunday, July 30.

The Outlaws stop at Weedsport Speedway will once again be the tour’s only visit of the season to the state of New York.

Empire State Challenge tickets are already available for purchase via the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series website at www.worldofoutlaws.com.
