One More Day: Diamond State 50 Postponed to Wednesday Night

DELMAR, DE – The Diamond State 50 will wait another day.

With a high percentage of wet weather predicted for late Tuesday afternoon and evening, BD Motorsports Media LLC – operator of both Delaware International Speedway and the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco – has opted to postpone the event by 24 hours to its scheduled rain date of Wednesday, May 17.

“The forecast is calling for anywhere between a 60- and 80-percent chance of rain on Tuesday at race time,” series organizer and track promoter Brett Deyo said. “With the majority of our teams towing long hours to compete, we made the decision to postpone.

“Wednesday’s forecast is calling for perfect conditions to race in.”

All times and pricing and events will remain unaltered for Wednesday night.

STSS Rent Equip/Party Central South Region Modifieds race 50 laps for $5,000 to win, $1,000 for 10th and $500 to take the green.

STSS Belmont’s Garage South Region Crate 602 Sportsman hit the track in a South Region event paying $1,500 to win and $100 to start.

Delaware Super Trucks and Delmarva Chargers, with 12-lap features each, complete the program.
