$4,000 Modified Opener Joins All-Star Showcase at Weedsport Speedway on Sunday

WEEDSPORT, NY (May 15, 2023) – Weedsport Speedway’s Modified opener will take the green flag this Sunday, May 21 in a 50-lap special, paying $4,000 to the winner, as part of the All-Star Showcase.

With a stout field of Modifieds expected on May 21 including Mat Williamson, the most recent winner on the Super DIRTcar Series, the Modified portion of the All-Star Showcase will no doubt act as a tune-up for the Super DIRTcar Series Heroes Remembered 100 on May 28.

In addition to a $4,000 pay day for the winner, the guarantee of at least the 13th starting position in the $7,500 to win Heroes Remembered 100 will be a crucial reward in the event that driver does that make the re-draw on May 28.

Modifieds with 358 DIRTcar legal spec heads and W16 small blocks are eligible to compete this weekend at an overall weight of 2,450 lbs.

All DIRTcar Big Block Modified body and engine rules will apply for this event.

Drivers will draw for heat race starting positions with the top heat race finishers redrawing for the main event.

Joining the Modifieds on May 21 will be the All-Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint Cars, making their first visit to Weedsport since June of 2019.

This year’s return should see a good mix of All-Star regulars and Pennsylvania standouts including Zeb Wise, Tyler Courtney, Cap Henry, Parker-Price Miller, Chris Windom, Hunter Schuerenberg and more.

Pre-race entertainment for the upcoming All-Star Showcase on Sunday, May 21 will include live music from Bill Ali, who will play on the Weedsport Speedway main stage beginning at 4 p.m.

Pit gates will open on May 21 at 3 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. and on track action taking the green at 6 p.m.

 

Reserved seating is available for $35 with general admission seating set at $30 for those 18 and up.  Youth tickets (11-17) are $15 with kids 10 and under free.
