Jordan McCreadie Launches 10th Season In DIRTcar 358 Modified

Jordan McCreadie looks to put together a consistent campaign motivated by his love for the sport

FULTONVILLE, NY (JUNE 2, 2023) – Jordan McCreadie has found what success means to him. Son of DIRT Modified Hall of Famer “Barefoot” Bob McCreadie and younger brother of multi-time national Late Model champion Tim McCreadie, Jordan entered his 10th season of DIRTcar 358 Modified racing this year and knows exactly what he wants from it.

“I personally look at wins,” Jordan McCreadie said. “The track championships and all that stuff, they’re all awesome, but they’re just really tough. Winning a weekly show alone is really tough, but then to count all those shows throughout the year, you have to have a lot of things go right. I think clicking a few wins off and just being consistent…if we can just keep doing that and click some wins off, that would be successful to me.”

In terms of the DIRTcar 358 Modified Hoosier Racing Tire Weekly Championship, he’s already off to a strong start, sitting second in points by the end of May. Last year, he finished fourth in the championship standings with two wins.

To him, consistency throughout the year will be the key to wins, a potential title and a fun year.

“When racing is going good, it doesn’t even have to be going great, It’s the most fun you can probably have in a sport,” McCreadie said. “That boils down to all the people that you meet; the fans, the people in the pits, all the officials, everybody that makes it happen. When things are going just OK, then it’s just a lot of fun and it feels very rewarding when you can keep the points coming with the results. There’s not too many things like it that I know of that give you that type of accomplished feeling.”

McCreadie has been around racing his entire life, growing up in a race shop and living at racetracks with his dad and brother. When it came his turn to jump behind the wheel of a car, he turned his attention to the Sportsman division before helping a family friend led to his opportunity in a 358 Modified.

After joining his father in helping family friend, Pierre Daigenais, with the maintenance of his 358 Modified on a regular basis, the dedication led to a career opportunity for the youngest McCreadie.

“[Daigenais] and dad had been friends for a really long time,” McCreadie said. “He just saw that I really wanted to do it. By then, I was racing a Sportsman that I basically pulled out of the weeds. It was Tim’s old car from the ‘90s. It was just a big old junker and I put a motor in it and went racing at Can-Am [Speedway.] I did that for a year and blew the motor up the last race. Pierre stepped up and basically pushed me into a 358 the next year. That was my intro into driving.”

After six years of driving with Daigenais’ support, followed by several years of taking care of the racing responsibilities on his own, the Watertown, NY native is now in his fourth season with car owners Pat and Tammy Flack, driving the #28 358 Modified. Their plan is to run the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series tour and run regularly at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park in Fultonville, NY – which will host the next DIRTcar 358 Modified Series event on Sunday, June 4.

“That was the main deal when we started this year,” McCreadie said. “We wanted to just see what made the most sense for us to do and focusing on the 358 stuff for us. It was a little cheaper expense per race and a lot closer to home with a lot of them. The main goal for us would be to focus on doing well in the 358 Series races and obviously the local stuff too, and to shoot for wins.”

UP NEXT: The DIRTcar 358 Modified Series schedule will get underway with the $4,000-to-win Mohawk Valley Showdown at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park on Sunday, June 4.
