Week 6 of the 56th consecutive season of racing at the Ridge a complete wash out – YankeeRacer.com

Week 6 of the 56th consecutive season of racing at the Ridge a complete wash out

The second event of the season sponsored by Valley Floors of Bradford VT succumbs to rain.

With rain all week, and heavy rains on Friday, we needed a break from mother nature for just a few hours to get the standing water of the track. Unfortunately, mother nature was having none of it, and proved the meteorologists wrong once again, as rain continued steadily thru the morning, and then intermittent showers hit the track well into the evening Saturday. As promotes C.V. “Butch” and April May Elms looked out on the track late Saturday morning discussing what it would take to get the track ready, they regretfully decided that it would be in the best interest for the track surface to not try to get it ready for competition. Knowing it would be an ongoing battle all day and night if the rains stopped, and then a week of putting it back together again, the plug was pulled for the night. This is the second event lost to mother nature of our 56th year of racing. Management will work with the sponsor Valley Floors of Bradford VT to get them back at a later date.
