Battle & Locke Split Double 350 Super Features; Baldwin Wins Street Stock 40; Nelson & Osborne Also Score Friday Star Wins

(June 30, 2023) — Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire, kicked off a weekend doubleheader Friday night, June 30, with both the Marco Turcotte Memorial and another 40-lap feature scheduled for the 350 Supermodifieds. Also on Friday’s schedule was the Woody’s Auto Street Stocks, in the second round of the MLM Diagnostic Services Fast 40 presented by CATCO race. The 2 To Go Show Show Six Shooters presented by Top Gun Roofing and MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stocks both were in action as well, with 20 lap features as part of the Friday night program.

Defending 350 Super Modified champion Jeffrey Battle Jr. took home the win in the first 40-lap main event. Ryan Battle crossed the stripe in the second spot behind his brother with Ryan Locke rounding off the podium in third. Chase Locke bested the field of competition to take checkers in the Marco Turcotte Memorial feature event in the second feature of the night for the Supermodifieds. Ryan Locke backed up his third-place finish in race one with a second-place finish behind his younger brother in race two. Supermodified veteran Justin Belfiore had his best run of the 2023 season to date with a third place behind the Locke brothers.

Charlie Baldwin topped the competition in Woody’s Auto Street Stock action Friday night, taking home the victory in the division’s MLM Fast 40 presented by CATCO Series race. Second spot went to Anthony Belfiore who pressured Baldwin to the finish, but was forced to settle for the runner up position. Shane Gendron was third across the line coming off back to back Woodys Auto Street Stock wins last weekend.

The 2 To Go Shoow Six Shooters presented by Top Gun Roofing were the one division running on both Friday and Saturday night (non-points Saturday) and the first race of the weekend saw Ryan Nelson beat multiple-time 2023 Star Speedway winner Billy Eastman en route to victory in the division’s 20-lap feature event. Paul Childs had one of his best runs of the season, as he crossed the stripe in third behind Nelson and Eastman grabbing the final podium spot.

Veteran Billy Osborne once again showed the way in the Pure Stock main event, adding another win to his racing resume. Billy’s nephew Gage Osborne, who has had a consistent start to his season, followed him across the stripe to take home the second spot. Defending division champion George Riley Jr. finished off his night in the third position.
