Johnson Repeats With Monaco Modifieds, Gendron Brings Home Local Win in R&r Street Stock 75; Eastman, Nadeau Win During Full Night at Star on July 22

(July 23, 2023) — The Friday night portion of Star Speedway’s weekend doubleheader never got rolling, as mother nature refused to cooperate, however, Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day for racing with the Tri Track Modifieds and R&R Street Stock Series both on hand. The 2 To Go Show Six Shooters and MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stocks were both also on hand as part of the Saturday racing program.

In the Modified main event, it was Rehoboth, MA, driver Jake Johnson who took home his second consecutive Monaco Modified Tri Track Series race win at the Epping oval. Woody Pitkat crossed the stripe in the second position, with veteran Todd Patnode rounding off the podium in third. The 25-car field ran 100 laps around The Place To Race.

Star Woody’s Street Stock regular Shane Gendron took home his first career R&R Street Stock Series win at his home track, as he paced the field throughout the 75-lap event en route to victory. Kris Watson, who is always a contender when he makes his way to The Place To Race, took home the second position with another Star Speedway Street Stock regular, Joey Ventrillo, rounding off the podium with a third place finish.

Billy Eastman continued on with his strong season in 2 To Go Show Six Shooter action, taking home his fourth win of the 2023 racing season. Zach Washburn, who has also found victory lane at Star this season, trailed Eastman to the line and took home the second spot, while Paul Childs continued his recent string of podium finishes rounding off the top three.

The MLM Diagnostic Services Pure Stocks saw Sean Nadeau beat all comers on Saturday night, as he took home the feature win over the divisions top drivers. Multiple-time 2023 Star Speedway winner Billy Osborne finished in the runner up spot and last year’s division champion George Riley Jr rounded off the podium in third. Riley also won the Reindeer games Saturday as part of Star’s Christmas in July celebrations.
