Heavy Rain Cancels First Half of Empire State Challenge
WEEDSPORT, NY – Due to heavy persistent rain hitting Weedsport Speedway throughout Saturday morning and afternoon, and expected to continue throughout the day, World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprint Car and track officials have agreed to cancel night one of the Empire State Challenge.
Fans who purchased a General Admission ticket for Saturday who wish to exchange it for a General Admission ticket to Sunday’s Empire State Challenge finale can do so at the Weedsport Speedway ticket booth. If you purchased a Reserved Seat for Saturday, it can be exchanged for a General Admission ticket and Pit Pass Upgrade on Sunday at the ticket booth.
If you’re unable to attend Sunday and purchased your ticket in advance through the World of Outlaws for the Weedsport’s Saturday race, you will receive a face-value credit to your MyDirtTickets.com account – good for two years – to be used toward any World of Outlaws event available at WorldofOutlaws.com/tix. If you purchased a two-day package, you will receive a face-value credit to your MyDirtTickets.com account for the Saturday portion. If a credit to your account does not work for you, then you have until August 29 to request a refund.
The Series now shifts its focus to Weedsport’s Empire State Challenge finale on Sunday, July 30. The NOS Energy Drink Feature will pay $20,000 to the winner and $1,500-to-start. For tickets, CLICK HERE.
David Gravel and Brad Sweet are currently tied for the championship lead with Carson Macedo within striking distance only 44 points behind them in third.
